F1 | Chandhok: “I hope Norris has exit clauses from McLaren”

Interviewed by Sky Sports, Karun chandhok analyzed the difficult moment he is facing Lando Norris in McLaren, specifying how the Englishman could choose alternative paths for his future in Formula 1, especially if the Woking team is unable to guarantee him an MCL60 capable of constantly fighting for the top positions in the ranking.

A situation of "frustration" - already mentioned last year and amplified by the desire to take a step forward in terms of results - which would lead him to accept the advances of other teams (Red Bull and Mercedes have never hidden an interest in the British).

All this, obviously, will depend on the contract that the Englishman signed with the team (expires 2025) and on the possible presence of exit clauses linked to the team's performances during the championship.

“During the pre-season we talked not only about the agreement between Lando Norris and the McLaren, but also how good Zak Brown was in signing him until 2025,” said the Indian. “I think and hope that the Englishman has included exit clauses in the new contract. For example, if McLaren doesn't finish in the top four in the constructors' championship two years in a row, Lando has the option to look elsewhere. Also because, outside of the top teams, he is one of the most interesting drivers and I imagine that it would be really frustrating for him to limit himself to fighting for access to Q3".
