F1 | Carey has no doubts about the calendar: “We want 22 appointments”

Liberty Media is working to put 22 events back on the calendar. In an interview given to the German press, the CEO of Liberty Medium he did not rule out a world championship full of races and events, underlining how American society, put under pressure in this difficult period, is doing its utmost to return to the original plan.

At the moment, we remind you, a restart is scheduled for July 5th, with the Red Bull Ring which would host two appointments (one on the 5th, in fact, and the other on the 11th). Next the Circus would fly to Silverstone (two rounds), Hungary, Barcelona, Monza and Spa.

“Our goal is to have a 2021 similar to what we planned in January,” he has declared. “On the 2020 calendar, however, we don't have a magic number. The general idea, however, is to re-propose the 22 races initially established."

On the negotiations with the circuits he added: “Whether it's teams, promoters or sponsors, we won't be handing out candy. We expect to be treated fairly. We will deal with everything with clarity and 2021 will look like the business we all knew four months ago."
