F1 | Name change in sight for Toro Rosso, the team will be called Alpha Tauri

A name that has made the history of Formula 1 in the last decade or so is about to disappear: Toro Rosso should soon change its name to Alpha Tauri, i.e. a fashion brand of Red Bull, which has extended its market also in fashion with the foundation of this branch of the company. The name derives from the giant red star in the constellation of Taurus, and pays homage to the founding company, Red Bull. The official announcement should arrive shortly before the Japanese Grand Prix, which will take place in Suzuka in two weeks.

Toro Rosso, which debuted in Formula 1 in 2006 after the acquisition of Minardi by Red Bull, has always been an Italian team, having maintained its headquarters in Faenza, as well as the composition of the team, which is purely Italian. At the moment there are no plans for a logistical or license change, so much so that the full name should be Scuderia Alpha Tauri. We will definitely know more in a few weeks. Toro Rosso boasts a Formula 1 victory with Sebastian Vettel in 2008 and a further podium achieved by Kvyat last July at Hockenheim.
