Through an official note published on the Formula 1 website, Liberty Medium confirmed the cancellation of the Baku, Singapore and Japan Grands Prix from the 2020 calendar. An almost forced and entirely predictable choice, especially after the many rumors that have circulated over the last few weeks.

In the first two cases, the organizers chose not to carry out a project behind closed doors, given that the economic return would not have justified the expense of building a city route (in the case of Singapore the costs for artificial lighting had to be added, being a Grand Prix to be held at night).

As regards Suzuka, however, Japan has chosen to close all borders until March 2021, to contain the spread of the virus. Coronavirus. A completely legitimate aspect, but which pushed the organizers to give up on holding the race (it was impossible to guarantee the logistics and transfer of material and people from Europe to the Mie region).

In the note, Liberty Medium announced that the final rounds of the championship will be revealed within the next two weeks.
