After Fernando Alonso too Jenson Button will take part in a motoring competition very different from Formula 1. If the Spaniard has recently taken part in the legendary Indianapolis 500, the English driver will participate in the equally important Suzuka 1000km.

The former Formula 1 world champion recently took part in the Monaco GP and doesn't seem to want to stop his desire to get back on track for anything in the world. This is why in August he will get on the Honda NSX-GT of the championship Team Mugen Super GT.

“After driving an NSX Concept-GT at Honda's Thanks Day in December I began to be interested in Super GT racing – said Button – I talked about it with Honda and they proposed that I race at Suzuka. My goal will be to win and I can't wait to get on track in front of my Japanese fans."

Button's journey will begin as early as the second week of July with some tests to gain confidence with the single-seater. Button will share the wheel with Hideki Mutoh and Daisuke Nakajima.
