F1 | Briatore on Brivio's arrival in Alpine: “Inexperience won't be a problem”

In a chat given to "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Flavio Briatore analyzed the choice of the Alpine F1 brand to focus on Davide Brivio as the new CEO, specifying how the lack of experience of the former Suzuki Team Principal in Formula 1 will not be a factor at all problem, especially if during the first few months he will be supported by expert people who know all the "subjects" inherent to the Circus well.

According to the Italian Manager, Brivio will be able to adapt quite quickly to Formula 1, an aspect that will allow him to carry out his job without major problems. The former Yamaha and Suzuki player, we remember, will take on the role of CEO in place of Cyril Abiteboul, with the latter being "promoted" to a managerial role within the French brand. The role of team principal will instead be entrusted to Marcin Budkowski, a former FIA technician who has worked with the French brand for two seasons (he is currently the technical director).

“I didn't know this sport when I started working for Benetton,” declared Flavio Briatore. “Personally I admit that I had never seen a Formula 1 race. In the end, however, I won seven world titles. I honestly don't think anything else needs to be added. I hope Brivio can do the same."

On the reasons that led Renault to choose the former Suzuki Team Principal he added: “I am sure that the French took this decision based on good reasons. I don't think inexperience will be a problem. In the end it's about man management. In a few months he will understand everything that needs to be done."
