F1 | Briatore: “Ferrari always puts it off until next year”

The former team manager expressed his point of view regarding the latest statements released by the Cavallino team. Specifically, Mattia Binotto said he was confident regarding the engine and aerodynamic projects for 2021.

Flavio Briatore, interviewed by Adnkronos, said that it is a story that always repeats itself:

“Will Ferrari close the gap in 2021? It's always like this, when we talk about Ferrari, the most recurring words are: next year."

The Italian entrepreneur however praised Ferrari for having contributed to the move of the Formula 2 champion, Mick Schumacher to Haas:

“It's fantastic for everyone, for the sport, for him, for his mother Corinna and for his father Michael, it's positive news. Does he have what it takes to do well in Formula 1? We'll find out, it's always difficult to say."

What is not in doubt, according to Briatore, is the talent of George Russell, who was about to achieve victory in the Sakhir Grand Prix:

"We saw the arrival of a boy that no one knew and if Mercedes hadn't made him lose the race, he would have won it. The team made a mistake. They did everything they could to not let him win, in good faith, but they did."
