Fourth pole of the season for the Mercedes driver

F1 | Bottas: “It would mean a lot to end the season ahead”

Mercedes is on the front row in the last GP of the 2017 season, but in pole position this time it is not the reigning world champion, but rather his teammate Bottas, who took home the best lap in Abu Dhabi , 1:36.231. Here are the statements of the Finnish driver, at his fourth pole of the season.

“It's only the fourth pole of my career and I had to beat several polemen of a certain level, so it's a great feeling to start in front of everyone tomorrow. Qualifying went very well, clean and smooth. With the changes we made, the car performed much better than in the Free Practice. After each outing I always managed to extract a little more speed; I really worked on the details. But the weekend is not over yet and we want to be strong tomorrow too. We were almost there in Brazil and now I have a second chance. It would mean a lot to end the season ahead. Whatever happens tomorrow, it will be nice to arrive at the winter break with the knowledge that I have the speed necessary to win pole two races in a row. It's a good feeling and a good start for next year."
