F1 | Bottas, the disappointment: “I can't be happy with fourth place”

A Mercedes that is now going strong everywhere, thanks not only to its technical characteristics and the work of the entire team, but above all thanks to a winning and constantly evolving mentality: this is also confirmed by Valtteri Bottas, who, however, showed strong disappointment for not being able to stay closer to his teammate.

Valtteri Bottas admitted that he "cannot be happy with fourth place" on the grid for Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix, "because everything was going quite well in FP3 and even up to Q2, but suddenly the others were able to find more grip and not I succeeded,” admitted Bottas after the session. “I think the tire preparation could have been a little better but, at this point, I can't see it as the key motivation.”

The Finn was level with Hamilton for most of the weekend, including in the early stages of qualifying on Saturday. However, Hamilton found that little something extra, which left Bottas slightly confused: “Our car was on pole position and that shows we have a pretty competitive car here,” he added. “I think Lewis did a good lap, there was something missing in mine, but not six or seven tenths. So, there is still something for me to understand, why there was such a big gap,” commented Bottas.
