Rain could play a key role in the next Austrian Grand Prix, the ninth round of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. While waiting to discover the performances that the drivers will show in tomorrow's free practice, the attention of fans and professionals is focused on the weather, which could mix things up compared to what was seen in the race staged seven days ago also at the Red Bull Ring.

The forecast currently indicates possible rain both tomorrow and on Sunday. A "crazy" variable that would certainly not please Red Bull, given the race pace shown in the dry in the Styria GP. On the contrary, a wet GP would help Mercedes to compensate for a performance gap that is currently quite significant compared to the Austrian team. An alarming situation which, combined with the points that the Englishman must recover in the world championship, certainly does not allow Toto Wolff&Company to sleep peacefully.

See you tomorrow, 11.30 am on Sky Sport F1 HD, for the live coverage of the first free practice session at the Red Bull Ring. Teams and drivers will have 60 minutes to discover the behavior of the softer tires brought by Pirelli for this round.
