F1 | Aston Martin, Vettel: “It will be complicated to manage traffic in Q1”

Friday was apparently anything but satisfactory for Aston Martin, with Vettel and Stroll in fourteenth and sixteenth position respectively at the end of free practice for the Miami Grand Prix. The German, who was also the protagonist of a disagreement with Russell during the second session, suffered like many with the very low grip of the twisty asphalt of the US track.

“The weekend started quite well – says Seb – but I think there is still room to fine-tune the car and adapt to the track. It is a complicated circuit and has mostly blind corners, which makes traffic management difficult. It will be a determining factor for qualifying, especially in Q1. The red flags interrupted part of our work programme, but we adapted as best we could because we need to do as many laps as possible on a new circuit. We hope to get closer to the top ten."

“It's always fun to ride on a new track, and in Miami they created something interesting – Stroll admitted. The turns from 4 to 7 contain a fun sequence that allows you to attack. The sessions were affected by red flags but we did what we could. Qualifying will be challenging, especially with traffic on a track like this."
