F1 | Aston Martin, Vettel: “I gain confidence lap after lap”

Quite a complicated first Friday of the season for Sebastian Vettel, who finished free practice in fourteenth place in Bahrain. The gap gained by Verstappen is not very much, we are talking about nine tenths, but the leveling out that we seem to be witnessing at least in this first day of work makes Aston Martin fans hesitate a bit, from which perhaps a little more was expected since immediately despite Stroll's eighth position. Qualifying is tomorrow, times don't matter today, but the feeling is that something didn't go right in Sakhir, especially on the German side of the garage.

“It's very busy this year with less time available in free practice, but we were able to do a lot of things – Vettel said at the end of the day. Each lap helps me gain confidence with the car, managing to find more and more rhythm. I'm still testing and learning a lot, so I'm looking forward to looking at the data and coming back tomorrow with the information I've gathered. The car is good in some corners, less so in others, but that is normal at this stage of the season. Tonight we will work to find balance. The center group is very small, everyone is learning quickly."
