F1 | Aston Martin, Vettel on the fifth row in the Sprint Race: “I would have liked to do better”
"The car was competitive," said the German
Half satisfaction for Sebastian Vettel. The German from Aston Martin finished in tenth position in today's qualifying, and tomorrow he will be on the fifth row, alongside Carlos Sainz in the first Sprint Race (it is more convenient to call it that, ed.) in the history of Formula 1, which in fact will award the pole position, for the sake of an amazing Hamilton. We were saying: half joy for Vettel, happy for having reached the top ten, a little less for not having done better in Q3.
“I would have liked to position myself better in Q3 because the car seemed competitive – Vettel admitted. Overall it was a good session: very happy with my lap in Q2, but in Q3 I struggled to make the most of the car, so I think we could have done better today. It was fantastic to see the crowd of fans today and I imagine the new format made Friday more interesting for the fans."
