Aston Martin is betting big on Sebasian Vettel. The historic British brand, which from this year will be on the grid in place of Racing Point, has decided to place its trust in the four-time world champion who will share the garage with Lance Stroll. Otmar Szafnauer, Aston Martin team principal, is certain that the former Ferrari standard-bearer can return to his past glories after spending difficult years in red.

Furthermore, Szafnauer is convinced that the experience brought by Vettel could be very important for the growth path that the Gaydon team hopes to achieve.

"I don't think Sebastian has forgotten how to drive a race car fast – Szafnauer told GPFans – He knows how to win world championships. I'm sure we will learn a lot from him, which is why we got him. We will give him the support structure he needs to feel comfortable in the team and start performing at the levels we know he is capable of.".

The Aston Martin CEO and team principal then added: “This is what we have to do. He has to teach us and I think together, with that support structure, showing him love can lift us all up. We have a great driver with fabulous car control like young Lance, not as experienced as Seb, and then we have a four-time world champion with that winning experience that Seb brings and I think this combination will lift the whole team".
