F1 | Aston Martin, Lance Stroll: “We will play with strategy in the race”

Underwhelming qualification for Lance stroll, victim of the circumstances at that time Monaco. While his teammate – the two-time world champion Fernando Alonso – finds himself on the front row, Stroll is instead forced to end his qualifying session early, stopping in Q2 with the fourteenth fastest time. The Canadian didn't have an easy life: among other things he narrowly avoided a penalty, with the mechanics pushing the car towards the weight control scales in the middle of Q2. It will therefore be an uphill Grand Prix for him, who will try to play with strategy to recover positions and get closer to the points zone.

“A frustrating qualifying, the potential was there: in Q1 I was fifth and I felt comfortable with the car. Then things got worse in Q2: I wasn't able to prepare the tires on the preparation lap, then there was the weight problem and then the traffic, then I lost tenths in my last attempt – said Lance – when the margins are so narrow, all these elements do nothing but make the situation worse. Tomorrow is another day, we will try to reverse the situation with the strategy, either by returning early or by attempting the undercut. Let's also hope for a bit of rain, it could mix things up."
