F1 | Aston Martin, Krack praises Alonso: “He always extracts the most from the car”

The driver market that has developed in recent weeks has struck an important blow: the move of Fernando Alonso to Aston Martina starting from 2023. The Spaniard, who has opted for the British team with which he has signed a multi-year contract and where he will the place of Sebastian Vettel who will hang up his helmet at the end of the season, will thus be faced with a new professional challenge in his long career.

A situation that intrigues Aston Martin itself and TP Mike Krack, with the latter having discussed the hiring of the two-time world champion and the prospects regarding this combination.

"It just has that killer instict – said Krack, interviewed by the official Aston Martin website – Whatever happens, you know that Fernando will always give you everything: he always pushes 100%, always extracts the maximum from the car and the team. His racing ability is exceptional: a formidable combination of confidence, instinct and intelligence. Fernando's signing is a clear statement of our intent as Aston Martin F1. We are not on the grid to make up the numbers. We are here to win. Fernando's decision to join us on this journey is a great compliment to our team and the work we are doing".

Krack, completing his analysis on Alonso, added: “It will demand a lot from us, but that is to be expected from a multiple world champion. Fernando will be a driving force as we move up together and, like everyone in the team, I look forward to working with him. The prospect of having Fernando and Lance in the car next year is extremely exciting".
