F1 | Aston Martin, Fallows: “We have taken a big step forward”

Aston Martin is without a doubt the positive surprise of this start of the season. Lawrence Stroll's team has in fact significantly increased its performance which has led it to become the second force, behind the unapproachable Red Bull. An improvement resulting from various factors, among which certainly is the large technical market which brought one of the most sought-after engineers to Silverstone: Dan Fallows.

Fallows, who for years was Adrian Newey's right-hand man at Red Bull, who became the technical director of ASton Martin, made the right corrections which allowed the AMR23 to compete for important placings right from the start. In fact, the green girl from Silverstone achieved four podium finishes with Fernando Alonso in the first five events of the season.

“We have taken a big step forward and we have been quite aggressive in pursuing that goal – said Fallows, quoted by RacingNews365 – It was gratifying to see that we have taken a big step forward compared to last year and, if we look at ourselves, in our place in relation to the fastest car, which at the moment is Red Bull, we still have a long way to go."

Fallows, completing his analysis, added: “We are absolutely happy to have taken the step we were hoping for, but we must try to take the next one”.
