F1 | Aston Martin, bad accident for Stroll in Baku: “I don't know what caused it”

Very unlucky day for Lance Stroll. The Canadian was having a great race in Baku, keeping a good pace despite very worn tires at the end of his first stint. Evidently, however, he used them for too long, given that the left rear exploded in the middle of the straight, a bit like what happened to Verstappen shortly afterwards, putting an end to his good race and throwing away a good placing in the points. Too bad, because the #18 Aston Martin was driving really well. An AMR21, also given Vettel's second place, which however seems to be constantly growing over the last two races. We'll see how he performs when we return to a track that isn't in the city.

“I'm frustrated for not finishing the race, but I'm fine – Stroll said. We were on track to score a good haul of points, extending the first stint and overtaking many cars. It was the right choice to start on the hard tyres, we had a good race pace. I'm not sure what happened and what caused the accident on the straight, there were no signs of failure, so we have to investigate. It was a challenging weekend, but there are positives to take, in particular our race pace, and of course Sebastian's podium. Heartfelt congratulations to the whole team."
