F1 | Aston Martin, Alonso: “We'll see what we'll do starting from the front row”
"It's been a good weekend for us so far," commented the Spaniard
Also in Saudi Arabia l'Aston Martin confirmed its competitiveness. In Jeddah qualifying Fernando Alonso brought the AMR23 to third place which will become second due to the penalty suffered by Charles Leclerc. The Spaniard will therefore have a great opportunity tomorrow which will see him start on the front row next to poleman Sergio Perez. An important opportunity for the two-time world champion who will be able to take advantage of the excellent performance of the silverstone champion as happened in Bahrain, where he finished the race on the lowest step of the podium.
“It's been a good weekend for us so far, qualifying was our weak point in Bahrain but today the car went very well on the flying lap and we'll see tomorrow what we can do starting from the front row – declared Alonso at the end of qualifying – Yesterday the car also seemed very strong in terms of race pace and I believe that our strong point is this and tire management. We should do better on Sunday than on Saturday."
