In a chat given to the microphones of the RaceFans.net website, the main promoter of the next Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Khalid Bin Sultan Al Faisal, admitted that the management of the Jeddah race is negotiating with Liberty Media the possibility of using the format with Sprint Qualifying.

Present last weekend at Silverstone, the president of the Saudi Arabian motoring federation wholeheartedly promoted the spectacle offered by the 100 kilometer mini race to be held on Saturday, specifying how the intention is to become the third (fourth if Interlagos will be confirmed) appointment to promote this structure.

“Last week I followed the new format with Sprint Qualifying at Silverstone and I must say that I liked the composition of the weekend, both as a spectator and as a promoter”, said the Prince. “You have more races over the course of the weekend and on both Friday and Saturday there is a lot more action on the track. Qualifying first on Friday does not guarantee you pole position on Sunday. We would like to become one of the countries to use this format."
