F1 | Alpine, Ocon: “Eleventh position in Monaco isn't bad”

from Monte Carlo, Monaco

Esteban Ocon was the best of the Alpine drivers. The Frenchman took the sixth row in Monte Carlo, narrowly missing out on Q3. Tomorrow he will therefore start in eleventh position, and from the tone of his words he said he was still satisfied, despite the fact that in the narrow streets of the Principality the A521 seems to have taken a slight step backwards, evidently not perfectly suited to travel on an atypical circuit like the Monegasque one. However, the race is tomorrow, and the Frenchman will certainly not miss any opportunity.

“Starting eleventh is not bad at all – Ocon admitted. With what we had available, it's probably the best we could do. I'm happy with my lap and driving in Monaco in qualifying is enjoyable. We weren't as fast as in the last two races, but we have some things to analyze that will definitely help us in the future. Tomorrow we will start from a good position, even if it is not perfect, but we can choose the compound we prefer. We are out of the points at the moment but ready to attack in the race."
