F1 | Alpine on last row in Baku: Gasly disqualified after reaching Q2

“It hasn't been a good weekend for me so far – Ocon said after qualifying. We had problems in the first two practice sessions, which limited our track time and compromised our preparation for qualifying. We couldn’t find the right set-up, so I had to push hard to recover. On the last lap I was improving slightly, but I hit the wall. Tomorrow we will try to make the most of every opportunity, as there are always unexpected things on this track.”

“I'm quite happy with the qualifying performance today, although it's a shame to have been disqualified for a small fuel flow infringement – Gasly said. We knew it would be difficult to reach Q2, as the car was difficult to manage all weekend, as you could see from the times in practice. Despite the result, my qualifying laps were among the best of the season. We improved the rear grip with some changes, even if the car was still sliding a lot. Tomorrow we will have to stay calm and try to take every opportunity, as the races here are always unpredictable”.
