F1 | Alpine, Esteban Ocon is fifth: "Nice way to celebrate my 100th GP"

Esteban Ocon finishes his 100th Formula 1 Grand Prix in fifth place. The French driver had already taken a nice lead in the Sprint Race, securing sixth position for the start. In a race characterized by several duels, Ocon is no different, and his Alpine finds himself fighting with Zhou, Tsunoda and Hamilton. The moment in which he almost hinders Leclerc during the lapping is not very nice, with the Frenchman not moving, but instead he seems to want to engage in a fight with the race leader. Apart from this flaw, his race was error-free and in the end he brought home important points for Alpine, still with both cars in the top ten.

"What a day, what a weekend! I think we really maximized the car's power at crucial moments. It's a really nice way to end my 100th Formula 1 Grand Prix. There were some good fights on the track, but in the end George was too fast and we couldn't do more than fifth place – said Esteban with satisfaction – we bring home many good points this weekend, and we move up to eighth place in the drivers' championship, equaling McLaren in the constructors' championship. The team is going in the right direction and we will try to ride the wave also at Paul Ricard, one of the team's home races, and obviously mine too. It should be an incredible weekend and I can't wait to get back racing in front of my fans".
