F1 | AlphaTauri, Yuki Tsunoda: “We knew it would be difficult to get into Q3”
"We hope we can do better in the race tomorrow" added the Japanese, who will start thirteenth
Yuki Tsunoda finishes qualifying at Montmelò in thirteenth position. For the second time this year, the Japanese driver will start ahead of teammate Pierre Gasly, fourteenth after missing FP3 due to an engine problem. Not an easy weekend for the Faenza team, with Tsunoda having openly declared yesterday that he was not satisfied with the car. Things improved on Saturday, but the AT03 remained far from the top ten.
"Today I think we got the most out of the car, so I have to be satisfied – Yuki declared – things didn't go well already in FP1, here in Barcelona we really struggled to find the pace, especially compared to Miami. We were aware from the start that getting into Q3 would be very difficult. It's certainly not one of the best weekends for the team, but we hope to be able to get things right in the race tomorrow".
