F1 | AlphaTauri, Yuki Tsunoda is thirteenth: “Overtaking will be difficult”
The Japanese misses the first free practice session due to a problem with the Honda power unit
Complicated day for Yuki Tsunoda, who loses an entire session on a circuit that is new to him like Zandvoort. The Japanese rookie was unable to lap during the first free practice session due to a power unit problem on his AT02. In the afternoon, however, Yuki finally managed to set a fast lap, which puts him in thirteenth position.

"This morning we were testing some aerodynamic components, but there was a small problem with the PU that we had to analyze and this prevented us from returning to the track. I spent the rest of the session watching lots of on-board videos of the other riders, to try and learn as much as possible before returning to action in the afternoon – explained the Japanese rookie – in Free Practice 2 I completed my first fast lap: I tried not to push at the start, because on this track there aren't many escape routes. In the end, I was happy with my ride. Clearly, we still have to work on this evening, but I was comfortable in the car and it was important for the team to have this data, in order to prepare for qualifying. I think qualifying will be crucial, as overtaking in the race will be really tough. I hope to put it all together when it really matters tomorrow".
