F1 | AlphaTauri, Yuki Tsunoda: “We must try to react”

Particularly unfortunate qualifying for Yuki Tsunoda, who after a first attempt in Q1 remained in the pits for a long time, predicting problems on his AT03. The Japanese manages to get back on track for one last attempt and, despite the significant improvement of the track, Yuki fails to make the cut and stays out of Q2 by just 35 thousandths. AlphaTauri will therefore have to hope for unforeseen events to try to save a weekend that started practically in reverse.

"It's been a difficult weekend so far, in general the car was really difficult to drive and we struggled due to a lack of grip, especially in the first sector where I had absolutely none. We knew it wasn't going to be an easy day, but we didn't expect it to be as difficult as it was – revealed the Japanese – we thought we could get through to Q2, but it was even more complicated than we imagined. We still have a day ahead of us, we have to try to react: it's not easy to overtake here, but I'll do my best to try to close this first half of the season with a positive result".
