F1 | AlphaTauri, time canceled for Tsunoda: “The objective remains the points zone”

Complicated qualifications for Yuki tsunoda e Nyck de Vries. The two pilots ofAlpha Tauri they were victims of errors due to the damp track. The Dutchman manages to make the cut for Q2, but his session is already compromised by mistakes in Q1, having run out of new tyres. Nyck will therefore start from fourteenth position.

“It was a positive weekend, but I'm disappointed with the outcome of qualifying. I had two spins on the exit of Turn 11, so I wasted two sets of softs and no longer had new tires for Q2. There was a wet patch that I didn't see, but I clearly felt; so, in the end my confidence got the better of me – explained the Dutchman – it's a shame because we had a good pace, so I hope I can exploit it in the race tomorrow. It will be a long race and very focused on tire degradation, with the rain which could create some more opportunities, so we'll see."

Fifteenth, however, Yuki Tsunoda, whose time was canceled for having exceeded the limits of the track. Therefore, the entry into Q3 was missed, but the final objective remains: the points zone.

“The team did a good job and my lap was good, but I made a mistake and ran wide and my time was cancelled. I am very frustrated. I knew I had to give my all to get to Q3, so I have no regrets, but it was very close. The conditions were tough, we went from wet to dry, which made things interesting. My expectations for tomorrow are not too high, but anything can happen and I will be ready for anything to take advantage of every opportunity to score points."
