F1 | AlphaTauri, problems for Tsunoda: “I would have liked to lap more”

Problems in the AlphaTauri garage: not only the fire on Pierre Gasly's car, but also Yuki Tsunoda did not experience a quiet Friday. The Japanese, whose contract has also been extended for next season, was forced to end the second free practice session early due to a fuel system problem. Not a small problem, given that Yuki is making his debut on the Marina Bay circuit - Singapore is back on the calendar for the first time since 2019, after the covid-19 emergency. Tsunoda's times today therefore see him out already in Q1, but qualifying will be fundamental here: Yuki will have to make the most of FP3 to try to get closer to the points zone.

"It's a shame we had to end PL2 early, because I'm still learning this track and obviously I would have liked to lap as much as possible, but we had a problem with the fuel system and we had to stop to start repairing it for tomorrow – Yuki explained – I really enjoyed racing here for the first time, it's a bit of a mix between Monaco and Baku: the circuit is really tricky, the conditions are difficult and obviously it's quite undulating, but it's fun. It seems that temperatures will drop a bit and perhaps there will also be a bit of rain on Sunday, but for now my goal is to take advantage of PL3 to arrive as prepared as possible for qualifying".
