F1 | AlphaTauri, Pierre Gasly: “There's not much to say”

Pierre Gasly's race ends too quickly, throwing away a great opportunity to score points at the Red Bull Ring. The Frenchman, sixth in qualifying, started from fifth position, but on the first lap Leclerc got too close, touching the Frenchman's left rear and damaging his front wing. Gasly loses control of the car, ending up spinning and also damaging some of the other cars on the track: he is forced to bring his AT02 back to the pits on three wheels due to suspension damage, wasting a great chance for points given the rhythms shown by the Frenchman throughout the weekend.

"Honestly, I don't think there's much to say – said Pierre – when the accident happened I was in the middle of the straight, so I don't think I could have done anything. It had been a fantastic weekend up until that point. Obviously I'm extremely disappointed not to have taken part in the race, I think we had an excellent package available to score points. It's really frustrating because we are in full fight for the constructors' championship, but for the moment we remain fifth and it's good for the team".
