F1 | AlphaTauri, Pierre Gasly is seventh: “We continue to fight for fifth place”

Another excellent race for Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman, unfortunately, lost the advantage he gained in Friday's qualifying in the Sprint Race, and started the race from seventh position. After some initial difficulties with Vettel and Ricciardo, Gasly returns to the Ferraris, this time in a race full of battles with his opponents, especially with the Alpines: after the second pit, Gasly returns behind Alonso and Ocon, who takes DRS from his teammate team, and after a chase that lasted six laps, the Frenchman overtook them both, returning behind Carlos Sainz. In the end he was seventh, bringing AlphaTauri level on points with the French team.

"I'm really happy: it was a very intense race, but I think we can be satisfied. We had some really good battles, first with Daniel and Seb, then in the final stages of the race with the two Alpines – said the Frenchman, who always ran alone in useful races – it was fun to challenge them, because it doesn't happen that often in F1. Of course it was tough, but today we finished in the best possible position, behind the three Top Teams: this is the most important thing as we continue to fight for fifth place".
