The Russian on the fourth row in Abu Dhabi: "The best qualifying of my career"

F1 | AlphaTauri, Kvyat: “I hope everyone understands what I can do”

Once again Daniil Kvyat achieved an excellent starting position. The Russian will start from the fourth row tomorrow in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in what will most likely be his last race both with AlphaTauri and in Formula 1, at least for the moment. A seventh position was certainly welcomed with enthusiasm by the Scuderia di Faenza driver, once again ahead of his teammate.

“I think it was the best qualification of my life – admits Daniel. I'm very happy, getting this result on a long track with lots of corners like Abu Dhabi is fantastic. We knew we were competitive, but it was difficult to understand the tires this weekend. We did a good job putting everything together for qualifying, so I'll enjoy these good feelings for a few hours. After that my attention will shift to tomorrow's race: starting from seventh place the foundations have been laid for a good result under the checkered flag. When I'm comfortable with the car I can be fast, and I hope everyone understands what I can do. I like the car, let's finish this season strong."
