F1 | AlphaTauri, Kvyat: “The performance of the soft is not surprising”

Mixed moods at AlphaTauri after the first two free practice sessions at Silverstone for the second consecutive weekend on the British circuit. Kvyat ended the day in twelfth position, just ahead of Gasly, but the Frenchman suffered a lot with the set-up of the car, and after last Sunday's good performance he finds himself having to rearrange the car starting from the good things he has done in the first weekend in Great Britain. The Russian from Rome, however, is satisfied with this day.

“It was a good Friday, we did a lot of laps today – Kvyat said. The C4 tire didn't surprise us much, we will continue to make our evaluations on the tires to understand what works or not, and as usual we will analyze all the data to return tomorrow in the best possible shape both in qualifying and in the race."

“Today I didn't feel as comfortable with the car as last week, so we did a lot of testing between FP1 and FP2 – Gasly admitted. We wanted to try different set-up solutions to improve the car, but we didn't find the right one. Last weekend got off to a good start, so we'll have to analyze everything tonight and start from there. The gaps with the others are very narrow, but if we want to have a good chance of going to Q3 we need to find some performance."
