F1 | AlphaTauri, Kvyat expected at the double challenge Portimao and Imola

After the brutal failure at the Nurburgring, Daniil Kvyat is ready to face the next Grands Prix of Portugal and Emilia Romagna, the 12th and 13th round of this 2020 Formula 1 world championship.Alpha Tauri, thanks to the excellent potential expressed by the car in Germany, will try to place inside the top 10, so as to give the team important points for the constructors' championship standings.

“Unfortunately, the Nurburgring race didn't go for me: after being hit by Albon on lap 12, my race was practically compromised and the car damaged,” said the team's Russian Alpha Tauri. “He was penalized, but these are things that can happen in racing. Up until that point I was in the running for the points and I was happy with the lap I had done in qualifying. Luck certainly hasn't been on my side this year, to be honest. Nothing was given to me and I had to work hard for everything.

“But we will turn the page and move forward,” he continued. “Together with my engineers we continue to work hard and I am happy with the way we approach the race weekends. Our knowledge of the car has improved and we will soon see the fruits of this. It's been going well in the last few races, apart from the last weekend where we couldn't finish in the points."

“About the next race, I have never been to Portimao, so it will be a completely new experience for me, as well as for most of the other drivers. It will be an interesting challenge. I did a few laps of the Algarve circuit on the simulator a while ago, but it's not that fresh in my memory. I think we will have to work hard and learn as much as we can between Friday and Saturday morning. It's a new beginning! The layout of this track is quite unusual, with several ups and downs, something different from the usual. The weather should be ideal there at this time of year, with temperatures around 20 degrees, we will certainly have better conditions than the unusual ones we had at the Nurburgring,” he concluded.
