F1 | AlphaTauri, Gasly and Kvyat disappointed with qualifying in Türkiye

Qualifying to forget for AlphaTauri, who in the chaos of Istanbul was unable to go beyond Gasly's fifteenth position and Kvyat's seventeenth. The two riders found themselves in clear difficulty on the slippery asphalt of Turkey, made even more complicated by the rain that fell today. The Frenchman makes a very small leap forward, gaining a position on the starting grid for the penalty imposed on Sainz.

“It was a very disappointing day for us – Gasly said. The conditions were rather unusual. We are usually quite fast in the wet, but today we couldn't get the tires to work. They slipped everywhere and I couldn't get them up to temperature. There are many things to review and understand ahead of the race, especially if we have conditions similar to those experienced today. Tomorrow we will have to work hard to improve and recover positions in an attempt to score points."

“It wasn't a great day for us and I'm disappointed in myself – Kvyat admitted. I made a mistake on my last lap and spun at the wrong time, ruining my qualifying. Staying on the track was really difficult and I kept pushing anyway, even though the rear was uncontrollable. We couldn't get the tires to work today, but on the other hand it's not normal to drive in extreme and unusual conditions like these, with really precarious grip. However, the conditions were the same for everyone and I didn't ride as I would have liked. I don't know what to expect tomorrow, the conditions are difficult both in the wet and in the dry, so practically anything can happen in the race. We will continue to push."
