F1 | Alpha Tauri, Tost: “It's fantastic to be able to race again”

After a forced break, Formula 1 will return to action in Austria for the first round of the 2020 season. It will be a special event because, in reality, two consecutive races spaced a week apart will be held on the Spielberg track, a back-to-back, before moving back to Hungary for the third event of the year.

Among the teams that expressed their satisfaction with the announcement from Formula 1 regarding the start of the championship there is also Alpha Tauri, a team owned by Red Bull: “It's fantastic to be able to go back to racing again, also because it will be the first race in our new Scuderia AlphaTauri colours. We are all more than excited to do it at the Red Bull Ring, in this wonderful part of Austria. A big THANK YOU goes to Dietrich Mateschitz and Red Bull for wanting to host Formula 1 in Spielberg, allowing us to start the season and get back to work", declared Franz Tost thanking the Red Bull leaders for their commitment to making possible to play the first event of the season.

“It took time and effort to receive Government approval. This is also the result of the negotiations started several weeks ago by Dr. Marko with the authorities. Of course the atmosphere will be special and it is a shame not to be able to count on the support of the public in the stands, but this is an important first step in bringing Formula 1 back to normality.”

“The safety standards imposed are very rigorous and we ourselves have already put them into practice in our factories in Faenza and Bicester, so as to bring all the staff necessary to prepare for the season back to work on 1 June. It is fundamental both from a purely economic point of view and to give a signal of how life is returning to normality", concluded the Alpha Tauri team principal.
