F1 | Alonso: “My future? No decision before October. I have to assimilate my retirement from Formula 1."

For a couple more months, the future of Fernando Alonso will remain an unknown. The 37-year-old Spaniard, who only a few days ago announced his farewell to McLaren in Formula 1 at the end of the season, does not want to rush things, so as to be able to calmly ponder each step: “I'm thinking, but I probably won't decide or be ready to confirm anything for a couple of months. Maybe in October or so. We'll have to live with a lot of predictions until then." – stated the two-time world champion directly from Silverstone, where this weekend the 6 Hours, the third round of the WEC season, will take place.

In September Alonso could carry out a session on the Barber Motorsports Park road track test with the Andretti Autosport Dallara DW12 of IndyCar. A way to deepen your knowledge of the category, after last year's experience at the Indianapolis 500 (the Asturian's declared goal for the Triple Crown): “There is this possibility (of an IndyCar test, ed.), which has arrived in the last few days, so I will think and decide” – admitted the former Renault and Ferrari driver. “It might be interesting, I had a lot of fun at the Indianapolis 500 last year, but I didn't drive that car with a normal setup on a normal track. First of all, though, I want to take the time to assimilate retirement from Formula 1".
