F1 | Alonso has considered retiring from Formula 1

The McLaren driver revealed that after his debut at the Indianapolis 500, he seriously thought about retiring from Formula 1, in order to aim for the triple crown.
“Yes, I thought about the possibility of changing categories and leaving Formula 1 -confesses Fernando Alonso- after last year's Indy 500, there were some races like Austria and Silverstone, where I said to myself 'Maybe next year I could try something different, I could dedicate myself completely to the triple crown, do Indy and Le Mans, it would be the best thing'”.

As revealed by the documentary “Grand Prix Driver”, To McLaren they feared that Alonso would decide to leave once and for all, given that the car continued to show problems. Regarding this, the Spaniard added that leaving Formula 1 in such a negative way made him change his mind:

“But then I thought that the time to retire has not yet come, not with these results, not with this feeling. I knew I would regret it for the rest of my life. I want to do it, the work at McLaren isn't done yet and I think a lot of things will change this year, I'm sure of it.".
