F1 | Alonso looks positive: "I hope that a new championship can start from the French GP"

The first races of the new season were certainly not smooth sailing for Fernando Alonso. In fact, the Spaniard, returning to Formula 1 after a two-year absence, is struggling to find the right feeling with the Alpine (especially with the wheel of the A521) as demonstrated by the mixed results obtained so far.

The two-time world champion hopes that a positive phase of the championship can begin from the French GP, the next round after the Baku one which will be held on June 20th at Paul Ricard.

"The start of the season is not the best possible timetable for a rookie driver. Imola, Portimao were circuits that I hadn't raced on for years or I never raced at them – admitted Alonso, quoted by GP Fans – The others, however, raced there four months ago. Then two street circuits in Baku and Munich. So the first six circuits of the championship, four of them were extremely challenging to get used to. From France, hopefully, a new championship will begin for me. As for the steering wheel, I hope to get something that makes me feel the balance of the car better, with more feedback than the current ones".
