F1 | Alonso: “Play an entire season in the WEC in 2018? It would be nice…"

Formula 1 and WEC, Fernando Alonso aim for double commitment. Over the weekend in Abu Dhabi, the Spaniard's desire to fragment his 2018 in this way was revealed: “We should study the calendars carefully, but it would be nice. I'd probably like it." – confirmed Alonso himself who, with a view to the 24 hours of Le Mans, recently tested the Toyota LMP1 in Bahrain.

Eric boullier, Racing Director of McLaren, however, was reluctant to face this scenario: “First of all, calendars intersect, therefore he would not be able to complete the entire season" – underlined the French manager. “Of course, we all know that Fernando loves racing every weekend, I think fifty-two weekends a year would not be enough for him. We also know that one day he would like to race at Le Mans, even if we have not yet received any official request, no one has asked us anything. I cannot therefore comment on these rumours.".

As stated by both Alonso and Boullier, the biggest problem would be the calendar management: given the current situation, in fact, they would overlap Chinese GP of Formula 1 and the Paul Ricard's prologue of the WEC. We are talking about the weekend of April 6-8.
