F1 | Alonso attacks the Formula 1 Twitter account: "President Montezemolo has never made certain statements"
In the latest Beyond The Grid podcast, Montezemolo declared: "When he wins he's happy, when he doesn't win it's the group's problem"
Back and forth between the Formula 1 Twitter account and Fernando Alonso yesterday. After the latest Beyond The Grid podcast, which cited some controversial statements by president Montezemolo towards the Spaniard (When he wins he's happy, when he doesn't win it's the group's problem. Ed.), the two-time world champion heavily attacked Formula 1 and the author of the piece in which the interview was inserted, underlining how the reported statements are profoundly different from those transcribed.
A blunder that the former McLaren standard-bearer did not want to overshadow, given the many rumors surrounding his management of the group in times of difficulty.
Nando, let's remember, came close to two world titles with Ferrari, competing for it in a period where Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull plundered titles and successes.
“The President never said this, especially after scoring 80% of the points for our team,” Alonso reported in his tweet. “We ran hard, together, and fought until the last race for the championships.”
😂😂😂😂😂😂! It had to be a reason not to follow this account until now. Today you remind me again!! President never said that. Specially after scoring 80% of the points for our team. We race hard, together, with all our heart and we fought until last race for championships ✊️
