F1 | Alfa Romeo, Zhou Guanyu: “I was impressed by our pace”

Zhou Guanyu's qualifying ends in Q2. The Chinese rookie was one of the protagonists of the Saturday session, often setting interesting times thanks to the improvements on the track, and thus managed to easily qualify for Q2 with the eleventh best performance. Having reached the minimum target set, Zhou attempts the feat, but is unable to follow his teammate all the way to Q3: in the end Guanyu is twelfth, and will start from the sixth row next to Sergio Perez's Red Bull.

"I'd say I'm happy with today's qualifying, especially considering the difficult conditions this morning. We finally managed to get both cars back into Q2, it was a really intense session and, once again, we were all very close. I was impressed with our pace today – revealed the rookie – it seemed like we were back to our usual levels after a couple of difficult weekends. Q3 wasn't that far away, but I found traffic on my preparation lap and the tires weren't ready, but still I did a good lap and I'm happy about it. It seems that tomorrow the temperatures will not be much higher than today, so let's hope to be in good conditions for the race, to try to fight and score some points".
