F1 | Alfa Romeo, Zhou is fifth: "We showed that we also have a good pace for the race"

It was already incredible to see the Alfa Romeo among the top ten in free practice, especially after the Silverstone weekend. But when Zhou Guangyu concluded Q1, putting themselves ahead of the rest of the group, in first position, the team Hinwil he understood that the C43 he perhaps had the potential to stay ahead. Despite theAlternative Tire Allocation and some times deleted, Zhou managed to make his way to Q3, placing himself in fifth position no less. After several difficult weekends, the Chinese has the chance to achieve a great result in the race: thanks to the ATA, Alfa Romeo has shown that it can be competitive with all compounds.

“It's really nice to be on the fifth spot. Definitely, yesterday we already demonstrated, due to the tires mounted and the fuel on board, that we have a good pace. I felt comfortable right from the first laps, we had the chance to get into Q3, but I certainly didn't expect fifth place. I'm very happy, especially with the first position in Q1. I knew I had to do a good lap to make myself safe, as my previous attempt had been cancelled, but finishing in front gave me confidence for the rest of qualifying. I also did well in Q3, we have a strong car, this track suits the car well, we hope it goes well in the race too, we are very motivated – said the Chinese – the team did a great job and it's nice to have both cars in the top ten: we weren't happy with the performances at Silverstone, but we worked together to optimize them and the results prove it. We were already strong in free practice, but we analyzed the data and managed to make that step forward which allowed us to get into Q3. Now, we hope to repeat ourselves in the race, and to finish the weekend as it began, scoring more points."
