F1 | Alfa Romeo, Vasseur on the Canadian GP: "We expected a completely different performance"

Speaking to the official microphones of the Alfa Romeo website, Frederic Vasseur spoke about the performances of Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi in the last Canadian Grand Prix, the seventh round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, underlining how the Italian-Swiss team expected everything Another result, especially after the excellent qualifying achieved by Antonio Giovinazzi.

“After almost reaching Q3, we expected a completely different performance in the race,” said Alfa Romeo Racing team principal Frederic Vasseur. “However, an additional stop on Kimi's car, due to a torn visor, penalized his race. As for Antonio, however, his race was made more complicated by a contact on the first lap, an aspect that prevented us from racing against the rest of the grid."

On the C38 he added: “We are working hard to understand tire performance and will bring most of the developments we have planned to the track in the coming weeks. I am confident that we can recover the speed we showed in the first part of this season. The goal is to get back into the fight for points."
