Schumacher is in fact part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and very likely could get on one again Alfa Romeo for test sessions during the season.

Vasseur, however, does not take it for granted and indeed specifies that he wants to stay away from it silly season for the moment.

"It was very strange, they didn't even travel a kilometre” commented the team principal regarding the first market movements of Hag, Sainz e Ricciardo.

"We remain on the sidelines for now. Kimi Raikkonen he still has a contract until the end of the season, then we'll see. I don't have to repeat how much my pilots are worth, and Antonio Giovinazzi he improved a lot at the end of 2019” Vasseur told the Swiss newspaper Blick.

Regarding Schumacher and his possible arrival at Alfa Romeo in 2021, the Frenchman added: "Everyone has their opinion, we have ours. I think, however, that Mick should focus on his F2 career first".

In the interview, Vasseur also highlighted how the company managed to keep all 500 employees during this period of economic crisis caused by the pandemic, also commenting on the behavior of some of his colleagues.

"In times when Formula 1 means survival, you realize who your opponents are. I was amazed at the narrow-mindedness of some of them who fail to look at the whole picture. They should understand that the world can survive without Formula 1” concluded the team principal.
