F1 | Alfa Romeo, Vasseur: “First race of the often chaotic season”

Alfa Romeo Racing is preparing to make its debut in the Austrian and Styrian Grands Prix, the first two events of the 2020 world championship. The Swiss team wants to reverse course after the bad second part of the 2019 season, while the Barcelona tests left a big question mark on the performance of the new car. The first races usually present pitfalls but also surprises, and it is on these two aspects that the team will try to take as many points as possible.

“It's been a long time since the last race in Abu Dhabi, so we're eager to get back to racing – said Fred Vasseur, team principal of Alfa Romeo Racing. The situation will be different, given the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, but we have confidence in the measures that the FIA ​​and Formula 1 have taken to protect us all. The first race of the season is often chaotic, and that's where the opportunities arise: we will have to be ready to take what comes our way. Racing again in Austria seven days later will be a new experience for everyone, but we expect a good battle in the middle of the pack, which will make the races truly open and unpredictable."
