F1 | Alfa Romeo, Vasseur: "Kimi in isolation but without symptoms"

Also for the Monza round, Alfa Romeo Racing will have to do without Kimi Raikkonen, who tested positive for Coronavirus over the Zandvoort weekend. It will therefore be Kubica who will replace the Finnish champion in the Italian Grand Prix, with the fans unfortunately not being able to give the right tribute to the last world champion with Ferrari way back in 2007. The support will therefore be all for Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert himself , actually Italian by adoption.

“First of all we wish Kimi a speedy recovery, he is still in isolation at home, without symptoms and we can't wait to have him back with us – said Fred Vasseur, team principal of Alfa Romeo Racing. Robert will replace him after the good work in Zandvoort and the team will do its best to support him. We arrive in Italy ready for our home match: after the Dutch show we are eager to see what the "Tifosi" have in store. For the occasion we will have a special livery and a rich program of activities at our historic Alfa Romeo headquarters, but we also want the action on the track to add to the spirit of the party. We took a step forward in Zandvoort with our best qualifying since 2014, and only due to unfortunate circumstances were we unable to fight for the points. In Monza we will have a completely different challenge and the Sprint Qualifying will provide the opportunity to mix up the cards. A good result in front of this audience would be special."
