F1 | Alfa Romeo, Vasseur: “In Melbourne to compare ourselves with our rivals”

With the Melbourne race, a new season also begins for Alfa Romeo Racing, also supported this year by Orlen. Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi are ready to take to the track with the C39, a car that did not convince most people in the Barcelona tests. After the debacle of the second part of the season last year, the Italian/Swiss team has the obligation to level out its performance to return to being a protagonist as in the first races of 2019.

“It's only the start of the season, but the first race is seen as a milestone after months of work in the factory and two weeks of winter testing – said Fred Vasseur, team principal of Alfa Romeo Racing. We go to Melbourne eager to compete with our rivals: we will not sit on our laurels, or on the contrary we will not despair depending on the result of this race.
