F1 | Alfa Romeo, Valtteri Bottas: “We are aiming for the top 10”

The season ofAlfa Romeo seems to be starting off on the right foot: Valtteri Bottas e Zhou Guangyu they seem to be projected more towards the top of the ranking, than towards the bottom. The Finnish driver remained behind his teammate in both rankings: ninth in FP1, twelfth in the second session. The objective for Valtteri is however that of a top 10 finish: the feeling with the car is there and who knows whether Bottas will be able to get the Alfa Romeo into Q3.

RACE PITCH ANALYSIS

“Ours was a pretty solid day and I feel comfortable with the car, especially with the set-up used in FP2. The car responded as we expected, no surprises, so now we can focus on the details before qualifying. We were also consistent in our race pace. As we expected, the mid-table teams are all very close and even a small flaw can make the difference: finding a place in the top ten won't be easy, but it's a realistic target for us, with both cars. Making predictions is difficult, but I expect an exciting Saturday."

Good feelings also for Zhou Guanyu. The Chinese was eighth in the first session, tenth in FP2, still ahead of Bottas. The team's objective is very clear and a few details, already in qualifying, could make the difference.

“Today went well. We managed to complete our program before the checkered flag and the car seemed to be going well, I was comfortable from the start. As expected, they are all very close: we will have to continue working tonight, examining the data collected today to try to find a bit of an advantage, every fraction of a second will be fundamental. I think we're in good shape with our race pace, so we'll have to refine the details and make sure we're ready for the race."
