F1 | Alfa Romeo Sauber, Simone Resta introduces himself: "I make my experience available, all the ingredients are there for growth"

He officially took over the role of technical director last July 1st, yet he has already taken over the reins of the team: Simone subtraction, fresh from farewell to Ferrari, immersed himself headlong into his new adventure at the court ofAlfa Romeo Sauber.

The Imola-born engineer has already clarified Sauber's objectives and prospects for the near future: “The plan is to expand the team, in terms of size and number of employees” – he began, as reported crash.net. “We are over 400 employees: the plan is to increase the workforce by a third. We must continue to grow, also increasing manpower. Every position is different and each of them needs something different. I hope with my experience I can give my contribution to the team: I'm still getting to know the environment, colleagues and processes. Goals are challenging as you would always like to be at an end point and take another step forward from this year. Now we are firmly in the mid-table group".

Thanks to the partnership with Alfa Romeo and Ferrari engines, Sauber this year has decidedly turned the page compared to the recent past, so much so that it has become a fearsome mid-table competitor: “I think the team has grown and improved very considerably this year, so I think it shows that the foundation is there and the competition is there.” – continued Resta. “The team is growing in size and the technical base is good: there are good structures, like those of an independent team, with a good technical background. I think there are all the ingredients to take a step forward".
