F1 | Alfa Romeo, Raikkonen: “I had fun, it was nice to fight like this”

Alfa Romeo and Raikkonen scored points again in the French Grand Prix. The Finn, who started from twelfth position, had a great race, officially finishing in eighth place behind Ricciardo, but the Australian was penalized for the maneuvers at the end of the race and is classified eleventh. He can breathe a little at Alfa Romeo Racing after a difficult month and a half and without any points in his pocket.

“Yesterday I was a bit disappointed after being excluded from Q3, but we knew it would be better to start with tires other than the Softs, and so it was – Kimi said. I didn't have the best possible start, but luckily I didn't lose too much on the straight and I fought in the first corners. We were in a good position in the first laps on the hard tires, but I had to contain Hulkenberg for the whole race: it was a good battle with the Renault and in the end I managed to recover from the car in front. The last laps were intense and I enjoyed it: it's nice to be able to fight against other cars in the middle of the group and stay up front. This is a good result for us."
